Thank you for visiting the Louisiana Heart Gallery website where we believe every child deserves a loving family to call their own.
There is a great need for parents willing to be licensed foster parents, able to provide a temporary home for children needing a stable, loving environment. There is also a need for parents wanting to adopt children that are legally available to be adopted.
If you are interested in fostering temporarily, or fostering to adopt, you will first need to become a Certified Foster Parent and will begin the process by taking one of the classes listed below. For more information, call the Shreveport DCFS (318) 676-7100

Meet 10 year old David! David enjoys being outdoors and participating in outdoor activities such as hunting and fishing. He believes bonding with a father figure over outdoor activities is ideal. David prefers a family with a mom, dad, siblings and a pet. David responds best when he is in a well structured environment, has consistency in his daily routine with clear expectations, limits, and logical consequences. He would be most successful in a family that can provide him with the attention and support that would benefit him most. David has a brother who will not be adopted with him, but it is important for him to be adopted into a family that would allow him to preserve his relationship with his brother. To learn more about David, please contact Geoi Smart at 225-337-0058 or Geoi.Smart.DCFS@LA.Gov or LaToria Cottonham at 318-676-7009.
